Quote: sounds like you would make out better if the guy is stupid enough to take a xj with a motor problem for a 5.9. Shame its on those ugly wheels but whatever. I love my 5.9, only thing that sucks, is every thing zj is more expensive, so do it while gas is cheap. 242 mod is best one to date...
what size lift is on yours. Also how much you got in lift and tires?

how clean is the interior on the 5.9? if it is clean, you would be making out with a more valuable vehicle. They are highly desired, at least in my area. there was a guy here who had one I wheeled with, it was awesome!

luckily most of the xj front suspension stuff is the same, the zj has all my hand me downs...

but its a mix and match tomken/rc/iro lift around 4.5-5" or so... I started with a RC lift, but got rid of most of it due to it being junk, kept the coils and rear lower arms...

I like low lift big tires...so lots of cutting/bumpstopping required, no idea how much invested...I have (3, xj xj zj.)

5.9's are badass. If it's clean, it's definitely worth it. I've personally always liked built ZJ's. You don't see them on the trail every day, especially w/ the 5.9.

Yes that's pretty much a no brainer for sure TRADE and be quick about it before he changes his mind. The GC looks good in the photos, I like the color also. I have both a 04 GC "Overland" with the 4.7HO and my 99 XJ. The Grand is my DD and no comparison as far as comfort goes with the XJ mine has every option offered and all work as well.

In fact I even tow the XJ at times with it depending on where we are going and for how long, if in the mountains a lot we take our 1 ton Ford Crew Cab Power Stroke. If we plan on camping out for a few days to a month or so we take the Diesel Pusher Motor Home Holiday Rambler.

I would be hard pressed to get rid of either of them as I enjoy both for different reasons the same for my 2013 Lincoln Town Car just depends where we are going. BTW the wife enjoys the GC which when I bought it she said she would not drive it at all as she liked her Chevy Colorado 4x4 better.....That's changed also the Jeep has more extras on it than the Lincoln almost lol.

Here are both of mine ready to head out.
