is the guy retarded? better yet, are you for even having to ask this question?
TRADE.
On the other hand, if I could find a 2.5 5 speed 2 door XJ to make a trail rig, my current XJ would go back to stock DD status... For some reason I like the 4 bangers... Heck I would settle for a 2.8 v6 equipped 84-86 with an ax5 5 speed and 2 doors... I have just had better luck with the small motors than the 4.0... Have had two 4.0's go south on me, but my first XJ had the 2.8 and I locked it up turning it 6-7k rpm in a mudhole. Got it out, broke the motor loose by pop starting it behind my ex's Altima, and it still ran like a top... Friend had a 2.5 that refused to die...

is it 5 speed? I cant decipher from the interior pic if it is or not. if it's not, 3.55 gears are stock for an automatic.
I wasn't basing my decision on the engine, I was basing it on the fact that his simply has more upgrades.

Do you care that it has blocks in the leafs??..5" worth of blocks??? NOT GOOD.
I would doit, but I would regear and get rid of those blocks.
Still a great deal.

What kind of condition is yours in?
That one you are looking to trade for is probably about to blow up, or the tranny is ****ting out again. It looks like it's going to give you problems, especially if he's willing to trade for a 2.5.
