If you can pick that up for 800 than go for it. I use to tow my 95 with my 99 and it worked. My trailer brakes were set a little stiff and getting to speed was slow but it worked and for me safely. But I'm not the type that hooks up to a trailer and thinks I just entered a NASCAR race. It's all in what you are conferrable with and what you can afford. In the near future I will be building an XJ just for towing and as a DD. But it will have 4 wheel disk, deeper gears with bigger axles, and a re enforced frame. That's just me I like working on XJ's and like to do what is ill advised. ( its not if you question authority but how) thank you Mr. Sulock
