Default Tires on the roof rack

Yay curious what everybody's technique for gettin oversized tires on and off their roof racks and lifted xjs. I just finished my rack and throwing the new 33x12.5 spare up there was a task.

when my bias ply 36 with beadlock was up there in the basket, i always said if i ever got a flat, i would just call caa. lol.

but really, it just takes some grunt to get it up, as for lowering it, i just slid it off once, but it bounced down the trail and off in the trees. wasn't fun. so after that, i just used a ratchet strap that i had it tied down with, and hooked that into the tire and lowered it down dragging the strap over the top rail of the roof basket. that seemed to work great.

but now it's on a swing out mount, which seems even harder to get on there.

so i still have caa.

I throw it on the hood and then jump on the hood and roll it over the windshiels onto the roof. Needles to say not everyone will be interested in my method for cosmetic reasons.
