Currently stock height 89 XJ, soon to be a 2" lift. I am looking at doing some trails this year pretty soon, after my lift. I have a set of approximately 40% left Michelin LTX all seasons at 6-7/32", and these are 225/70 R15. These are my "summer tires". My winter tires (Canada eh) are a pretty much new set of Cooper Weathermaster St2's with about 13/32"s, and they are 225/75 R15. I am planning on replacing the Michelins soon with some bigger tires to accomodate the lift (maybe Duratracs), but if the wallet doesn't allow that before I decide to go wheeling, in your guys' opinions, should I switch back to the Cooper winter tires for the weekends I want to wheel, or just leave the Michelin all seasons, which have pretty pathetic tread, on until I decide to upgrade? Is a "winter" tire a good choice for muddy/rooty/rocky trails. I know that mud terrain tires often have very large sipes and tread, whereas these winter tires are quite soft, and have very small, but deep treads.
Thanks for any advice out there!
