Default Tire won't hold air...

Long story short I hit a stump or rock or something while offroading, and now my tire doesn't hold air. I can hear it escaping on a certain spot where the tire meets the rim. did I bend a bead or something? How much do you think it would cost to get fixed?

It depends on whats wrong. Wats it worth to you? Spend the money or get new or used. It should be reasonable though.

well i'm definately not spending 250 on a new tire haha, but i was thinking fixing it would be around the 20-50 range? or is that too low?

It could be that something wedged it self between the tire and rim. Happened to my wifes patriot on the turnpike when she hit a pot hole. I deflated the tire and cleaned out the area with a flat screw driver and reinflated. worked out great.

If its a small rim leak, u can put some tar on the inside bead and it will seal between the rim and tire. That's what we did for rim leaks when I worked at belle tire.

Don't use this. It sucks for people changing tires and hardly works.

x2

Take it in and have the dirt blown out of the bead. That is the proper fix for this problem.
