tinting my 96 cherokee

No, I don't lick fish.
if you do it outside in the sun in this heat, the tink will probably shrink itsself to the window on its own... but PM customizer1000... he's been a tinter for like 20 years or something... he can tell you anything you wanna know about tinting... how to remove it... everything.

Or do what I did on my 86. Go to pick-n-pull junkyard and purchase all the factory tinted glass for about $150.
Now you have spares too! Although not tinted..
WIN!

The factory tinted glass isn't very dark, that's what I have on mine. I want to go darker so people can't see what I have inside once I get my sub all hooked up. My head unit is already a prime target, I wouldn't want to lose my sub also.

Yeah not very dark and its really just privacy glass... Doesn't block heat and uv like actual good quality film tint.

Exactly, i recommend having a place do it for you, tint is very temperamental if you mess it up. It is cheap and you can get it pre-cut, but it takes a lot of patience and time.

I hate to thread jack, but how would I go about tinting my windows if they already have the privacy glass? Would I have to remove that first? I might try it by myself and see how it goes since I usually have a lot of patience. If not, I'll take it to a shop and have it done the by a pro. Somewhere that has a guarantee also.

Unless there are exceptions, privacy glass from the factory is dipped... Not a film... Therefore, you would have to replace the glass... Just go to a tint shop and ask them to put a U.V. film on it... Has almost no darkness to it, yet blocks out uv and heat.

i had used a razor blade and windex to get all the old tint off from previous owner and there was no factory tint or any kind of shade to the glass so i guess they wasnt dipped. just lots of elbow grease and lots of windex lol .

yeah, that works great... I just wouldn't recommend doing it on the rear window if your defrosters still work... very possible to mess it up
