Only other motor gunked up that bad that I ever recall seeing was a 57 T-bird that ran Mobil straight weight 30 non-detergent.
That was back in 1959 when I was wrenching at a Texaco station in Kansas, yes kiddies old gas stations back in the day did mechanical work, filled you tank, checked your oil & fan belts washed your windshield and ck'd the air in the tires. It was called a full service station, damn I'm old

lol, I took those pictures. That motor was in a Jeep that I purchased to part out. The motor would start up and run as long as I kept my foot on the gas. Though, while it was running it sounded like there was a bag of hammers bouncing around in the oil pan.
