Not too sure about it myself. Plus what is the purpose of the breather type filter in the middle of the pipe?

The filter in the middle of the pipe is where the pcv hose goes to. I plan on putting the same filter on the pcv valve above the valve cover. So i needed something for the tube inlet. I might just plug it not sure yet.

Ain't gonna work as a good CAI without a heat shield. Give it that, and it'll make it it pretty tight. Otherwise, completely lame as it'll work worse than the stock intake.

I'm not a big believer in that type of filter setup but as far as how it looks I'd go with tight!

Drive it a while with a paper filter on the valve cover PCV breather and see how it looks with oil drooling down the side of the engine.

the filter is going on the front PCV, which is the one that sucks in air.

I think your talking about the rear valve which sends the air out into the intake. I'm I incorrect?

EDIT: I must be getting old. I didn't realize "tight" was still slang.
