Default Tie down canoe

Greetings!

I recently purchased a '15 Cherokee and so far, I love it! My only concern is how I'm going to tie down our canoe. I plan to buy some cross bars and strap the hull down that way. But on other vehicles I've had, I've always had the ability to tie down the front and rear as well to something on the frame of the vehicle. My Cherokee is a Latitude, so no front tow, and it also doesn't have the tow package, so there's nothing to tie the rear to either. Anyone have any suggestions? Or do you think that a few ratchet straps over the hull is good enough?

Thanks in advance!

I have always tied the bow and stern as well as the hull. There are several products out there that will create tie loops on your hood. Like this:
