Okay so im thinking of just getting a new thermostat to hopefully fix my over heating problem and i was looking at o'reillys and i found one but it says race only and i didnt know if it would still work, its a high proformance, 195 degree.

 

Get a good fail safe one for 12 bucks from them best one!

 

Okay so what is the 195 exactly, is it what they run at.

 

I believe its the temp tjey open at correct me if im wrong

 

Correct as the temp reaches and passes 195 the thermostat will open, the failsafe ones I have heard are awesome and also junk just depends on if it works or not lol. Failsafe just means if the thermostat fails then it locks itself open so you constantly have fluid running into your block.

You could always run a 180 degree thermostat which will have your jeep running a lil bit cooler. It's same price can get it at autozone for like 8$

Or 195 degree stat and add some royal purple purple ice additive. Love the stuff

 

Low temp failsafe treated me wekk and you know when it goes out!

 

I never tried a low temp failsafe or any in that matter, just regular low temp thermostat. Idk why but i prefer the 195 and some pruple ice the most.
