Looking to replace thermostat and housing on my 99xj. I've read many mixed reviews on what temperature thermostat to get, so I'm just looking for more opinions. 160, 180, 195? I don't have overheating problems and being from south Texas the winter doesn't get too cold. I've read that with intake and exhaust upgrades a lower temp thermostat would be recommended and my Jeep has a cold air intake, JBA ceramic coated header, magnaflow high flow cat and Borla cat back exhaust.any and all opinions are welcomed.

 

I'd go with the factory 195, especially since you don't have overheating problems at all

 

i put a mr gasket 195* in my mine when i built my motor, more reliable and better flow, whatever u do dont get a failsafe

 

Why not a failsafe

 

they dont work... just read the reviews on them. usually cause more problems and dont last long.
