my dad says that my gas mileage will go down, fought him on that. and that i shouldn't put any money into it other than the engine and brakes and things like that because its an old truck and its going to break down soon. i walked away the moment he said that, he pissed me off so much with that.

so almost 17 and 4 days before my 16th my dad pulled up with a bone stock xj on the trailer (he told me to look at the new deckels on his dump truck) witch brings me to, after i sold my quad $3000 i gave that to him cause thats all he needed to finish paying off his dumptruck (good son eh) I got the xj for 600 so i got him to buy the 4.5 inch lift with my money he owed me to

thats the story behind it. so from now on i do everything by myself on a driveway or in a tent on plywood with pretty basic tools. right now im just doin a 231 swap

Id say just do it unless your parents are paying for insurance or gas... My dads paying for my insurance and the title is in his name since I'm 16 but he likes working on cars and says hell help me put on my lift

 

mine are paying for gas now and then and insurance, but my dad hates working on cars and i love it, go figure. im just gonna do everything i can with it now and wait on the lift

 

O well that sucks... My dad used to be a mechanic about 10 years ago so I'm in luck

 

i pay for everything.... gas and car insurance cost me about 80+ a week, and i make anywhere from 60-100 something a weej.

 

Holy **** dude that's a lot! I now lawns and it varies how much I make (for example I made $100 on Thursday [I'm on spring break] but nothing today cause it was raining) thank God my dad pays insurance and I respect you guys that pay for everything yourselves
