Alright guys so just like most everyone else I have some tax money coming to me in the next 10 days or so to the tune of about $1100.
I would love a new lift kit and or a new set of tires but i dont want to blow my whole tax return on it just yet. I have a RC 4.5" short arm AAL (I know, I know, enough said about that)
This being said I'm trying to think of some good odds and ends to buy for the XJ. Looking for the best bang for my buck. Heres my list tell me what you think:
SOLID diff covers--$80 shipped per cover
Roof Rack--cant decide on which one
Front winch bumper pre runne style--JCR or Logans Metal Products?
Winch--XRC8 or other?
Need new rear leaf packs for 4.5" lift
New tires--Goodyear Duratrac 33x12.50x15--$196 shipped per tire. Might just buy them one at a time per paycheck until i have a full set.
New Cragar Soft 8 for a spare tire--$50
New 703 injectors from (Programbo)--$60 for the set
New valve cover gasket--$30
Anything else y'all might want to reccomend keeping price in mind of course would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Chris.

valve cover gasket...leaky motor...no good. then spend the rest on gas for wheeling, a beer for your buddys to pull you out when you get stuck...beer is cheaper than a winch..lol

Well considering I no longer have a trailer hitch I dont think beer is going to cut it. I need some tow points hence the need for a winch bumper and a rear tire carrier or something of the like.

Just curious... where are you finding the soft 8's for 50 bucks?
Also, besides the AAL saggy craptasticism... how do you like the RC 4.5" lift? I'm thinking about getting their x-series kit here with my tax return. I get so much more stuff for the money than going after an RE kit...

I really like the RC 4.5" besides the way it rides with the AAL. I got it from a friend fo free who went with a bigger lift kit on his XJ so I cant really complain. Now obviously id like to go bigger but for it being my daily driver i like the ride height and the way if performs offroad on the trails, also for the price of tires its a good size to go with. I've heard great things about RC's 4.5" X-Series kits I think for now Im just going to order the full leaf packs from Iron Rock Offoad, they say they are only about 10% stiffer than the OEM leaf springs pretty darn close to stock in the way they ride.

Haha new gear oil?? I'm pretty sure mine has never been changed by its PO, my father, in its 17 year life lol. All kidding aside i know i need to do it but i think there is a forum member on here who sells 703's injectors for a little cheaper and maybe do like maintenance first and then do like aftermarket stuff like wheels and tires and well of course full leaf packs lol
