Im about to tade roof racks with my coach and i was just woundering how do i take off my stock roof bars on my 01 cherokee? Do the pop up or do i slide them back some how?
The one that im getting from him is gutter mounted and bigger, he just doesnt want a big one for some reason.

You could just leave the factory cross bars on, the other ones will most likely sit higher and not interfere. But if you really want to take them off you need to take the farthest back bolt out of the rail (this holds the end caps for the rail on) then pop off the end caps, slide your bars off the back of the rails, replace end caps followed by the bolts and your done.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, for some reason his sits lower and the PO of his jeep had to take them off in order to put the rack on. His kinda clamps to both sides of the gutter so i hope that the trade will be quick.
