tail light protection

anyone recommend what to use for tail light protection, to try to keep them from getting crushed? iv seen some guards, anything thats fairly cheap to use?

yeah ive seen guards where do you find those? got any pics of the ones you got? ive tried looking a few places and only seen em for the grands. i dont need em for a grand for reg.

you could put that clear plastic coating on em, kinda like a sticker, but it will only strengthen the plastic/protect from scratches. it wont protect against a tree like the guards. ive used it on headlights for a sportbike once

or you could make a tail light box, buy 2 red-3 way lights, and 2 white lights, you know the cheap round ones, and go to home depot, get some small metal rod, and make your own covers

I would expect they would be more applied toward side impacts. Sliding sideways off a rock/off camber situation, slamming into a tree/another rock. Or on tight trails when you are barely scraping through.
