Default SYE cost and parts

How much did you pay for your SYE kit and what all parts did it require to do the whole conversion? Also what brand do you recommend?

For the "regular" SYE ... I recommend the Advance Adapters HD SYE.

If you need a "super short" ... JB Conversions has been my best seller.

Want prices? Send me a PM.

Not much more you are going to need other than a new rear shaft or a shortened front shaft. And some good snap ring pliers.

Just installed one.I had to buy Lock Ring Pliers. Snap Ring Pliers would not work on mine. The snap rings in my kit had no place for Snap Ring Pliers to work with. Maybe yours will be different.

Mike .. you are correct. I should have said lock ring pliers. Definitely a difference between the two.

did you buy a new drive shaft, modify yours or get a shorter one from the junk yard?

My local driveshaft shop is making me one. Great guys, dealt with them many times. Much cheaper than a Tom Woods driveshaft. Today I'm going to measure for my steel shim and order that cheaper locally also. Then I'll drive across town once I get that. (Without rear driveshaft attached), spend a little time BS'ing with the driveshaft guys as they measure for the correct length... And I'm good to go.
I know measuring for the right length is easy but I'm of the school to let them tell me the right length. That way if anything happens they can't say I measured wrong. Plus they are good guys to keep in touch with. They will balance my front driveshaft for $22 as I wait. Don't know if it needs it but hey... for $22 why not.
Can't beat that!

that all sounds good. i wish i had some local shops like that around here. they just closed down the only decent local 4wd shop and i dont know of any driveshaft shops around here. hell the closest good junkyard is 2 hours away in mississppi called u pull it. i will figure out something, i deffinetly dont want to pay for a tom wood drive shaft.
