So I got it today, settled for 1800 and he replaced the Cat, water pump and smogged it. It ran great on the way home, about 70 miles. I did notice a weird humming noise coming from the rear. Jst got home haven't investigated. Any ideas? I'll post pics soon. Thx

There is a lot of open space in the cargo area to amplify drivetrain noise, but you should check the ujoints and the oil level in the front and rear diffs as well as the transfercase oil level just for piece of mind. Post some pics of your new rig. Do you have a stupid grin on your face while driving it? It's normal if you do.

My dad thinks it might be the fuel pump. It makes the noise in park as well. Plus when u place the key to ON u can hear a slight whine. Ya I've got the grin. My dad has a wrangled so I can't wait to get out. I can't figure out to post from my phone, yet.

Yeah, if you're hearing the whine when you first turn the key on it's the fuel pump, changing the filter may quiet it down some. The pump is very easy to replace on a 93, you don't have to drop the tank, just do it when the tank is nearly empty and do the whole assembly.

that makes me sick. local shop charged me $400 to drop the tank, replace the pump (which was $200) and fix a vacuum/vapor leak?
I hope that the tank drop was necessary for some of that... I also own a 93
