They do. Look up the frequency response on those things. Anything below like 50hz gets crossed to the "bass unit" which isn't even a sub, it bottoms out at like 25hz. When you turn the volume above any level louder than a whisper you can clearly tell all the low frequency sounds come from whenever the bass thing is.. It completely destroys any spatial substance of the source. Not to mention the anything above 15khz sounds like garbage.. They flatten the signal to hell at that point and hi hats sound super compressed.

LOL! For the record, I was able to take this picture of the inside of someone elses vehicle because the ghetto wiring job caught fire under the hood and I put it out.

Hilarious. House speakers in a vehicle...

This thread makes my face hurt from the multiple face palms that have occurred. Wow... just wow. If I was a wrangler guy, this is the kind of stuff I'd make fun of you for.

If you amped it, with a "matching" amp, it would have been plenty loud. What size wires did you run to your inverter?
With a powered Subwoofer You get louder Cleaner sound and alot more bass. The walmart one That only ha +/- Cables Were quieter than my Phone speaker.
I Don't know the size by heart. But they're about half 3/4 the size of normal battery terminal wires.

You needed an amp to go with it... you can't just hook up a sub with no amp...

I'm impressed, Considering that the bose Corp. Never ever published any spefications, frequency responses, or any other statiscal data. Pretaining to their products. Bad reveiws are just as easily found, as good reviews on the internet. Which is where you got your information from. Some of it was "word for word". As for that "whenever the bass thing is.." (I didn't bother to correct your wording.) Are you aware that the 901 speakers, Never even used a tweeter or subwoofer. And 8 of the 9 ( 4" full range) drivers are facing the wall. Hence the difference between direct speaker systems, and direct/reflecting speaker system.
