So it happens to the best of us, we're rolling along and come up to a mud hole, water crossing, steep hill, hole, pit, etc.. and think that we can make it across/over/through easily. Of course sometimes it turns out that we cannot, and we end up STUCK. So lets see those pics of you shamefully spinning your tires, or rocking back and forth like a beached whale!

I'll go first, just to break the ice. Now keep in mind for everyones posts, that Pics often do not do a situation justice. For example in my pic notice that the white wrangler is on Flat ground.

here is mine. i was leading (which seems to happen everytime) you can see the orange arrow on the tree. well one would think that following that arrow would work out the best. wrong. i was actually in deeper and the water was coming through the doors. i was able to back up a little until i got stuck on a log.

i dont have a pic but me and my buddy went wheeling when we both had stock cherokees and street tires just to see what our xj's could do we made it incredibly far and through alot of mud til we tried to cross this marsh to the other side of the trail well lets just say that marsh ate me i sunk all 4 tires spinning no traction and my buddy comes to pull me out and bottoms out so were both stuck. end up waiting bout 5-6 hours and luckily a lifted range rover comes through at about midnight and pulls us out no problem

No pics, didn't have a camera. But driving home one Sunday, I drove by this nice looking smooth dirt hill. It was about a 30 degree slope, smooth, roughly 20 feet high, and it was nice and flat up at the top (had a buddy once do the same thing, except it went almost straight down on the other side, his bronco fell about 15 feet straight down, totaled it...).

So I'm like, "Yeah, I got this, piece of cake..." to my wife, pull off, put it in full time 4wd (I have "trail" tires and it was covered in gravel), and go up nice and slow just to prove my point how little the Cherokee had to work to get up it.

Well, what I didn't see was that at the top was about a 2 foot berm/crown, and on the other side of that berm, was about a 2 foot deep/wide drainage ditch. I high centered it perfectly on that berm, was stuck for all of 15 minutes until some one nice enough drove by to come get me un stuck. Yes, it was in front of a main road in my town, talk about embarrassing.

Kinda impressed that it took a roughly 4 foot tall obstacle to get a bone stock Cherokee stuck.

Ok, the first one isn't that bad. The worst part was...I was where the door was supposed to be. So all that open area was full of mud, I was 1/3 covered in Indiana's finest clay. Totally worth it though

This on the other hand was probably the worst I have ever been stuck. It was about 25 degrees out and we were wheeling. I was driving over what I thought was dirt and leaves. It was actually leaves, 12 inches of ice, then another foot or so of thick mud. Needless to say, i broke through. The back tires were off the ground for a little while. When we broke a tow strap, we knew it was going to be tough...when we broke 3 tow straps, I knew it wan't coming out that night. I locked it up best I could and left it, it was the first time we have ever left a Jeep. I didn't get much sleep.

The next day, we brought more people and tools. It took about 8 hours total because everything was frozen. It got down to single didgets that night so every thing re froze. The front of the engine, axle, brakes, wheels, bumper, etc... were all frozen.

Finally got it out, but the front wheels were frozen in place. It took another 30 minutes making the wheels free up(thanks to Low Gear!) The tie rod was bent like crazy, I had to drive home at about 25 mph any faster it would shakk like crazy. Anyway, from that experience I have learned what I should have had with me and where I shouldn't take my Jeep.

I though frozen water was bad. Frozen mud SUCKS!!!!!! I mean everything was frozen in inches of ice.

I don't think tie rods are supposed to look like this.
