Ok I think my transfer case linkage broke off that's why the shifter has so much play, my question is how do I manually get it out of 4wd? I took pliers and tried to get it out and it didn't work!

 

Just an off the top of my head suggestion after you first find out if you have a linkage problem. I'm guessing the vehicle is sitting on it's wheels so there's tension on the drivetrain? If so get it on jackstands. Put the tranny in neutral. See if you can get out then. If not you may need to get some help rocking the front and rear wheels to take the tension off.
