Default Steering Column Ignition Switch Issues

I have a 1994 Cherokee Sport. I have started to have issues with the interior assesories turning off while i was driving. While driving i was able to get them to work again by wiggling the ignition switch to get them back on again. Then another issue just started. Now the ignition switch will not turn to start or turn to the full off position. I can get it to turn so i can start but with alot effort to get it there. I replaced the ignition locking switch and that wasnt it. Any clue what can help me resolve this issue.

if you remove the plastic dash bezel, there is a square block of cast metal center on top of the steering column just beyond the covered part. that block is hooked up to a rod. if you stick your finger in there and pull that block towards you, it may help with the ignition for you.

i had to do that all the time for a while till i just replaced that column.

changing the column was much quicker and easier than trying to fix the problem.
