Ok, I need a little help. Read a # of threads, and have checked nss, battery, wiring. Jeep will start and run using remote start button, but will not turn over using the key.98 cherokee 2wd 4.0 Any suggestions will be apperciated. Thanks Nick

 

Does the remote starter system have a starter kill/anti-grind relay? If so, that could be bad or partially disconnected. What year is your XJ?

 

Oh, 98. Didn't see that. Is you're ignition key grey or black?

 

can you put the key in run position and then jump your starter with a screwdriver? i don't really know what this would accomplish... I just know my neighbors old car's key didn't turn it on so he ran a couple wires from the starter to the top of the hood to a switch and started it by popping his hood every time.... **** that was ghetto... haha

 

key is black,but not sure if it is original. Yes you can jump with screwdriner dut the remote push button doed the same thing
