Default Starting problem still

HI All...NEED HELP..Jeep cherokee Still wont start first thing in a morning turns over for abut 10 seconds then starts, then starts first time all day afterwards, The glow plugs have been change as said before, and a new powerful battery and still doesnt start, So as the sun was out today i decided to do some checks, got one of the old glow plugs which i knew worked and placed them in the glow plug wire connectors one by one and turned the ignition on and they all worked fine and timed out to the relay, which is great one these thing but it leading to something else now, Plus I also clamped the fuel pipe last night before the filter to stop any drain back over night to see if that would change start times but still the same sort of startin time, so im know thinking its fueling problem ( Solenoid or the fuel filter it self as ive heard theres a moded version now avaliable ) all sound exspensive thou As any one got any ideas what it could be or were to start now ? ? Many thanks in advance
