depends on year of your heep

In my 93, there stock 5.25 but 6.5 fit with little modification, and they sound better

In my 2000, 5.25 barely fit the existing screw holes in the front and back. 6.5's fit like a glove. I am running Pioneer 6.5 3 or 4 ways. Cant remember. They are great and were only $60 for the pair.

i got cheap durabrand door speakers and a small box with 2 roadmaster 6.5" and 2 3" tweeters and another box with 2 12" subs, sound really good but i wish i had more tweeters though, the bass really drones out the highs and mids still

Id Look on Craigslist for either 2 10" subs or 2 12" subs add some 4x6 speakers in the door if its like my 93 jeep and maybe some littler ones below the dash kinda and you will have a kickin sound system, u would need an amp to!

Ive got 2 kicker 5.25 in the doors. They were probably 70$ or something my dad had them installed when they were still his car. He also had 2 polk 6x9 put in the back of the jeep. when i got the jeep i got four 10" orion xtr series 2 subs (500rms each) from one of my dad's friends at work who was pretty much giving them away. (i got them all with a box for 25$ they were his sons but he moved off to college and they were just taking up space in his garage) then i got a used alphasonik amp from one of my friends for 200$. New it was like 800$ so it was a pretty good deal.
