I was surprised how easily my ignition lock cylinder was to remove. I fairly certain he wasn't a Jeep guy...... Cause if he was he would have known to look in the hatch for tools to preform his low life craft.
I used to never lock her up but now I do. Took me some time and money to get all the stuff that I have deemed essential just for DD lol. I live more or less in the country myself but there's a bunch of pill heads around looking to make a buck or trade..... But none of them has been brave enough to mess with my XJ!

Glad he didn't take it, time to wire in a fuel pump cutoff switch somewhere?
What makes them so easy to steal?

No chipped key. The door locks practically fall out on their own. Smack the column and you can just push the lock rod down, the start rod and away you go.

Anyway to prevent it from being stolen this way? Or just hide a killswitch?

Kill switch to either kill your iginition or shut off your fuel pump is the best way to do it. Best to put the kill switch somewhere that isn't obvious, say, under the dash. A kill switch somewhere on the side of the center console towards the rear passengers feet are where I'd suggest. You can still reach it, but nobody will know its there. Make sure you keep it out of the way so someone doesn't accidentally kick it though.

That is exactly like the one I bought. Got it at Princess auto, like harbor freight. Was only 6bucks.

One of my older Grand Marquis had a kill switch hidden under the carpet next to the driver door. Just stepped on it to activate/deactivate it. Without it, that car would have been ridiculously easy to steal. All you needed was a butter knife bent at a ninety degree angle to pry open the vent window, so you could reach inside to unlock it.

Some of the thieves in my neck of the woods are pretty brazen.
One of my coworkers had her house broken into and the thief took all her kids toys outta her yard, took her babies formula, fixed something to eat, took a shower and a change of clothes. Idk if they ever caught the person though cause she moved soon after.

Btw. Huge fallout fan. Great avatar!
I thinking of ordering it and putting it in front of the cluster. I feel like right on top of the dash seems too fake. Or like motorcharge said just put a bunch of gun stickers too haha

Haha and thanks for the Fallout comment, glad someone else knows it on here you see the little quote in my signature too?
