Someone teach me lifts, PLEASE!
Hey guys,
Ok, I need some help here. I often feel like a complete DOPE with all this talk about lifts and all that jazz.
Can you guys please take some time out and learn me more about lifts?
I CONSTANTLY keep reading terms like, "SYE, t case, AAL, shackles, blocks, track bar, dana, sway bar, control arms, ect ect.."
I have NO idea what ANY of that means. I'm very new to all this. I work on my Harley all the time and know my way around motorcycles very well, but I've never worked on Jeeps/cars at all, so I'm kinda learning as I go.
I want to put on a very inexpensive lift, like 2-3" and I just want to know the things that I NEED to get it together.
So, if anyone out there could help my dumbness, I'd GREATLY appreciate it!
Thanks!
Adrian

google is your friend
SYE = slip yoke eliminator, helps with driveline vibes which are caused by the driveshaft being at a different angle
t case = transfer case. allows your 4wd
AAL = add a leaf. your leaf springs consist of 3-4 leafs. AAL is a type of lift where you repack the leaf springs by just adding one new leaf in the middle of the pack
shackles = your leafs bolt up to these in the rear
why am i doing this. google then come back
