Going spontaneous camping, and I want to sleep in my jeep. Who needs a tent anyway? I know some of you guys have tried it before. Any suggestions?
I know it's not gonna be real comfortable, so don't tell me to just get a tent haha.

How tall are you? I'm 5'10" and the last time i slept in the jeep I just leaned the passenger seat all the back and put a little battery operated fan on the dash for better air circulation. Slept pretty well actually.

I lay the back seat down and front seats all the way moved and leaned forward. I have a camping mat I keep in there for just this case. My head is near the tail gate and my feet up on the folded forward seats. Also have a battery powered fan to move air.

I'll actually be camping in my Jeep tonight, bush party in the mountains with lots of cherokees, wranglers, beer, country, classic rock, women. I don't drive after drinking and I don't want to be in the woods without my Jeep so I just throw a old comforter blanket down with the seats folded up, I leave the hatch open since it's 55 degrees out and put some bug spray on. I usually have my led lantern on my grab handle hook. I'll try to get some pictures tonight.

Here's a technique I've used a few times, park my jeep facing uphill at about 30-40* of incline, then recline the seat. Just like sleeping in a Barcalounger.

X3 on getting padding, I laid down some comforters and blankets and it still hurt my back. I'd recommend a tent mat and a thermal blanket if it gets cold. Last time I camped on a wheeling trip I got sick because it dropped down to 40 degrees in the middle of the night.
