Being short (5'7") has very few advantages. This is one of them!

With the rear seat out, I sleep pretty damn comfortably. I sleep on one of those air mattresses with the wheel well cutouts. I leave the rear hatch open and use a DAC Explorer 2 SUV tent:

To leave the windows open and bug-free, I use something similar to the Skeeter Beater, a magnetic screen you fit over the window:

Easy to put up, take down, and store!

The lift looks like a Rock Lizard lift and that's an ARB tent. Rock Lizard has a D30 solid axle conversion kit!

being short helps alot in this problem
i guess it would depend on what kind of a sleeper you are as well
i personally can fall asleep anywhere if i need to

i have slept on the back seat before because i was to tired to bother with folding the seat down

the best thing iv found is that when you fold the seat down prop it up a little so its at an incline. i have a pretty cushy sleeping bag so the floor is good enough for me

i have slept in the back of my xj like 5 times

I'm almost 6'-2" and I've slept in the passenger seat of my ZJ (my cargo area is full of stuff). Last winter I drove up to Vermont in January, (12 degrees when I arrived at 1 am) and let the jeep run for about 15 mins with the heat on medium. Turned it off, threw on my fleece hoody, and wrapped myself up in my alpaca blanket. Fell right asleep. Woke up around 4 am started it up again for about 15 mins with the heat on then shut it off, turned off the jeep and went back to sleep with no issues.

I have slept in the back of my jeep once. Being 6'2" it was a little cramped, but I have slept in much worse places.

Someone set their truck up to where they could easily flip the front seats backward. He used wingnuts, and had to switch driver and passenger to get them to bolt back in solid facing the wrong way.

Couple that with the removed bottom of the back seat, there will be plenty of space.

I sleep in my truck nearly every day at work for my lunch hour. I'm 6'1" and 165lbs. Diagonally works without switching the front seats.
