Default simple question

my 2000 cherokee has a bit of a rough idle, but doesn't seem to have a misfire. It's just idling low. Anybody else had this problem? any advise on how to diagnose the problem? help me out

Try replacing your oxygen sensor and/ or your map sensor. They're generally pretty cheap

My 00 XJ would idle around 500- 700 rpm with the stock injectors. wouldn't stutter but would just do this and keep right on going. When I upgraded my injectors to the #784 neon injectors it took it away and now it idles around 650-700 rpm.

i put a k&n filter in it about 2500 miles ago. it idles at about 1000 when its cold started and then when it warms up and stops high idling, it sits at about 600.

when it's cold the computer basically enters a "fuel dump" setting so it idles slightly higher to warm the engine faster and once it is warm, the idle drops down

or so im told
