Side mirror mod?
So I found out the hard way that rocks sliders are not tree sliders. While wheeling I slide into a tree. Knocked the review right off. I would like to make a mod to have easy on and off mirrors. The mirror and housing survived the tree. It was held on by the power wires. I can handle adjusting by hand.

Well they're held on by Torx bolts.
I assume if you get some threaded rod about the right size that you want, and attach with wingnuts, you'd be able to un-bolt at your leisure.

Maybe I didn't know the old ones couldn't do this because my buddy's mirrors were always able to just flex in any direction before springing back into place. They must have been broken.

Some of the old mirrors have rubber mounts, bump it and it unseats and folds out of the way. Not sure about all of them but at least mine do.
I have always wanted to get some of the old Ford pickup truck mirrors and mount them to the fender.
I have seen some of the Comanches came stock with these things, not sure why or what. My neighbors Bronco had them and I test-fit them on my XJ, looks like all the angles are right.
