chat? not tech at all. as for lifted 2WD whatever floats your boat. its still not a 4WD so i see no point in lifting them to offroad.

come on gai's don't turn this into a 2wd bash thread.... :offtopic:
|
That is nice. I see nothing wrong with doing what you want with what you have. Are there any more of these lurking.
|
I've got one I'll post pics later
|
I have seen one drivin around my town, I personally won't own a 2 wheel drive suv, jeep or truck but I still think the 2 wheel drive jeep is cool cause it's uncommon. I do like to find uncommon jeeps like the other day I saw a right hand driver 2010 jeep wrangler jk.

All the power to you, but I will not buy a 2wd vehicle. They are the worst on unplowed roads and driveways...
On topic: My XJ will be lifted come sunday. 3" RC and 31x10.50 |
I wouldn't buy a 2wd myself but they still look good and if you like it that's all that matters.
|
prerunner trucks are normally 2wd, and they are badass. But they're desert trucks.
|
Mines 2wd. I'd prefer 4wd. But my mom bought it lol. I'm getting a 3 inch lift before end of summer. And people don't only lift vehicles for off road some like the look.

My town was a Jeep Tj Is now a new unlimited wrangler Two towns over is a pre 96 cherokee One town over is gen 1 kj Found a mail cherokee at the place where my geo sat when it was totaled... it had leather seats with rear seat headrests, tow hooks, engine skid plate, and gas skid plate. All on a mail car. To op... your xj can probably go farther than mine at this point.. so all the power to you. lock it in the rear, and youll have the same min number of wheels spinning as a 4wd. |

I loved being 2wd and offloading because of two things, nobody believes you and keeps telling you to put it in 4 low :p
And 2nd because it taught me how to drive offroad. If you start out with a all lifted up 4wd locked all the way around I'll bet you you'l get stuck in the same stuff I could go though with my 2wd. I've gone though many many mud holes, and trails with other 4wd's and not gotten stuck. And I'm not even locked in :) Here's some pics of my 2wd :) http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...4/e8f98e0c.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...4/1d88231d.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...4/ca004143.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...4/faeefa17.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...4/a8607f13.jpg Even though I loved being 2wd when it gets back on the road next week it's going to be 4x4 baby!!! :headbang: Brandon |
Yes I flipped it. My sway bar quick disconnects were broken. I had to swerve...and it was sloppy top heavy. I dont care what guys tell you about how its "safe" to not have sway bars as long as you drive with caution...when something unexpected happens and you have to swerve...no matter how experienced you are...no sway bars is just asking to flip. In all honesty I can only blame myself for taking the risk of driving without them. Im just happy no one was hurt at all.

Ah, you just gave me an idea for the "Jeep trends I hate" topic. People who drive without swaybars are stupid unless it's a strict trail rig that you tow to the trails each time.

And the people that like the "look" of a lifted vehicle and don't use it for the main purpose it was created are why lifts are so damn expensive these days. |

I'm gonna throw a 3" lift and some 31"s on my 2wd DD xj before the end of the year.

Here is a pic of mine. It has TJ 15X8 Canyon wheels now though. Bought it for $600 with the intention of converting it to 4wd. The donor Cherokee ended up having water in the tranny and the swap never happened.
|
Can you post a pic of these 15x8? I didn't know a TJ came with rims that wide.

You sure those are 8" wide?

Yes, they are 8". The ZJ had a similar wheel that was 7". These came off a TJ with the 30" tire package (Pre Rubicon option package). The rims that came with the 30" tire package were 15X8. I just took some pics of the back of the wheel where it says 15X8. I'll upload the pics if they come out. If not my spare is at home. I'll post the pic tonight.

I like my 2wd DD MJ. Averages around 23mpg. 4.0 Renix, 5-speed. I have a 4x4 diesel pickup, a 98 XJ for wheeling plus a few others. I drive this thing in the summertime. Someday ill get around to paint, wheels and tires, then it will be a little Ezer on the eyes! Actually been looking for a nice 2wd Renix XJ for a DD... Someday ill find one.
