The gearing being correct or not depends on what transmission it has. An automatic with 4:56 gears will work with 33" tires( as in it goes back to stock rpms) If it's a 5 speed they might be close with 37's- i'm not sure of what gearing is needed for the 5 speed. As far as his rig goes- in my opinion it sounds like whoever built it didn't do it right. With that much lift and stock arms it probably drives like crap. I would be leary of buying any rig from a person that didn't know much about it. Xj's need quite a bit of modding to handle 37's correctly, and I don't think his jeep was built to handle them. If it were me, I would keep the jeep you have and build it right the first time. If you want 37's you need to start talking axle swaps, re-gearing, long arm lift kit, SYE, etc etc etc... If you get his jeep I have a feeling you would be in for a lot of work fixing previous problems and spending a lot of money making it the way it should be.. Plus those tires don't seem to have much tread left anyway..

I would keep yours cause you know what's been done it and know it's right. I think yours look better anyway, just because his is taller doesn't mean it looks better.

Sent from my new fangled celluarized telamafone using whatever makes it work.
