short pinion

Looking to replace ring and pinion in my 95 Cherokee font is a Dana 30, Rear is a Chrysler 8.25 I'm having a problem with the Dana 30 I'm not sure what is meant by short pinion! Can anyone help?

Short pinion is for the 00-01 XJ, TJ and ZJ low pinion D30. You need reverse rotation gears.
