shocks for rear hatch?

Sort of. If your rear hatch is metal you need to make sure you get the same mounting style as what came installed from the factory. I learned this lesson one concussion and a severely bruised arm too late. The local parts stores kept giving me struts that mounted on a single side. The problem is that the brackets kept twisting and the strut mount would fail. This happened 3 or 4 times so I decided to just go back to the 2x4 prop for the time being.
I did find out that the dealer had a pretty good price on the original equipment struts though. Just haven't gotten over there to order them yet.

Got mine at a junkyard off a second generation Ford Exploder. They are a tiny bit shorter so the hatch hangs a bit lower but it never falls. $6 each.
