Hello all I have been trolling for days and doing the search and reading thread after thread and have come to the conclusion that the more i read the more i need to know so I thought I would ask. I picked up my 92 XJ about a month ago now. It came with a 3.5" rough country lift, running 235/75R15s on centerline wheels, rubber mat for the flooring (to be installed), and the SYE supposedly installed correctly. The more I look at it the more I see i need to do. Its little things like putting the 4th bolt back in the U-joint, the 4th nut back on the Spring U-bolts, Replacing the all thread Holding the rear springs to the front spring buckets, putting the range for in the T-case. You know stuff like that. Half @##'d stuff. On a good note i think after spending days under this thin I believe I have found it all. But I am new to the XJ and have never lifted one. Which brings me to the questions... What do I not know that I need to know about lifting it. Ie. brake lines need to be longer ( I read ones on the front need to be from a 96 chev K1500. ) What else? breather tubes on the axles? I plan on wheeling this thing in Oklahoma and my last 4x4 I knocked the skid plates off the thing so I will go where it will go and pull it out when it wont go.....So it will see mud, dirt, sand, rocks, water, brush, and pavement. So help a new guy out what are some of the things the average Joe wouldn't think about that you experienced trail guys have learned over the years?

Did your kit have aftermarket lower control arms? That would be the only other thing besides brake lines and sye for 3.5". I guess if your offroading a lot I'd look in to lockers, bumpers, rock sliders, winch and a hi lift jack.

Front and rear tow points are a priority. Take care of the maintence first though. Im sure the diff fluid has never been changed, tranny probably has never been changed, do an oil change, you could to the tc fluid too. Check out the brakes. Look for rusty brake lines. Do a tune up(plugs, cap, button, wires, air filter, 02 sensors). Make her purr and then beef her up! Post up some pics!

No they the stock units.
look in to lockers, bumpers, rock sliders, winch and a hi lift jack.
Those will be budget items for later down the road. I am going to build my bumpers and obtain a hi lift first. Was pricing Hi-lifts the other night pricing wont hurt the bank for all the help they are. I have an old wore out one..I will use it until i get a new one.

Tow points are going to be incorporated into the bumpers as well.
Maintence - TCase and tranny fluid has been replaced. and the Oil and filter is in the jeep, I checked the plugs and cap they look new as well.
Making her purr... When i had her running before the fuel pump went she was purring like a BIG CAT! made the dog run
Pics - Those will come when the jeep can pose for the camera. I just cant let her make a debut While sitting in the driveway under an A-Frame with the exhaust hanging down. I am thinking a flex pic is order for the occasion. Hoping the weather is nice tomorrow so i can finally get the fuel pump sorted.
So i have been looking into shackles and spacers to bump it up a bit more. what you guys think?
