Default Serpentine Belt

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about doing the Gatorback for my Jeep after a problem with my belt today.

My problem is every source is not consistent with the length I need. Some are saying 97 inch, some are saying 95 inch, and some are saying 89 inch.

Does anyone know what length belt I need for a left hand drive 1999 Jeep Cherokee with AC?

Dang I never knew they were different lengths... I bought two from my auto parts store, gave them my year and it fit just fine.

I ordered a Goodyear (Continental) Gatorback belt last night with 95 inches on the specs. I'll get back when I find out if it's too big or not. It seems most aftermarket XJ ones for my setup are this long.

I measured the one in my Jeep today and it came out to 95 inches. So I guess I lucked out and ordered the right one.

I think I still have the box from the gatorback I ordered. 01 4.0 with AC. I usually keep my old gatorback as a spare just in case.

The factory Mopar belt is 97 inches. Aftermarket ones seem to like being 95 inches.

Here's the Mopar part number:

I guess 95 or 97 inch will work! 89 inch seems to be for right-hand drive Jeeps.

With the Gatorback numbers, the last three digits tell you the length. Therefore yours is 95.0".

The length for a 1999 should be 95" with A/C or 89.5 without A/C.
