I got bored one saturday and whipped together this cowl hood. put it together with materials laying around the shop
it'll come out nice if I ever have time to finish the body work

Check out my build thread. I've got a 2" lift, 32s, rear bumper, tire carrier, and 2 KC Daylighters that I've spent less than $300 total on.
Steel for the bumper/tc: free
hardware for the tc/bumper: $92 + shipping
32" Uniroyal MTs with 50+ tread: $100
2" spacers: free
2" teraflex shackles: $50
KC Daylighters: free
Just check craigslist and jeep site for sale sections daily and there's a lot of great deals out there.
If I factor in the parts that came with my Jeep that I sold already I've spent more money on my new cylinder head alone than I have on the Jeep itself and the parts (minus the head) combined. If you're patient and can do your work yourself it's not hard to build a pretty decent rig for cheap.

I was just saying in the homebrew thread theres alot of projects that are done at home but not exactly cheap or free, the cowl hood posted earlier is a good example of cheap or free he made it with scraps!

I mean your initial argument was semantics. If it costs him $200 to build a bumper vs buying one for $500...I'm sure you can see where this is going. Cheap is relative. You're not going to get anywhere in Jeeping by being cheap, but you can be thrifty and sensible about spending and saving money doing it.

My Free Cheap Mods.
Cost around $10 for paint. Trimming cost around $10 for cutting wheels for grinder.
Removable Doors. Free other than cutting wheels.
I spent noting only thing needed is a few quick connects $10 at most for all 4 doors. Relocation of Switch for easy removal and wiring for removable doors. Takes wires on drivers door from 20+ to 4
Speaker Relocation Free So I still have tunes while doorless.
