Good point, I didn't think of that, so I will cut it in half.

Mandatory for joining the site. Lets just say as you fill out the joining information. Leave it blank and get friendly reminders that you have left part of the application off.

When you buy your XJ you can just fill it in.

So mandatory with no penalty for not doing but to have to delete an email every so often.
