Sanding, and Sanding, and Sanding and Painting
When I bought my xj there was some rust on the roof. The guy who sold it to me had a "friend" in the painting bidness that owed him some money, so he commissioned him to paint the roof. He thought bedliner would be a good idea, which would have been okay with the roof rack and all...... IF THE FREAKIN GUY WOULD HAVE PREPPED IT BEFORE HE DID IT!!! So today I begin the process of sanding all that chit off and doing it right.

Yep I got to first fix the hole in my roof and then paint it. Just remember you dont have a hole in the roof just rust. SO be happy. Also the idiots at chrysler under sprayed the coating on the bottom on the passenger side. There is no rust at all on the floorboards except right there where they under sprayed it

If the river would just go down.
Can't catch trout when they generate 24/7 on the river.
Guys, after attempting to do this myself, I'm really considering just taking it to a body shop for prep. Even with a crappy prep job, that bedliner is tough to get off!!!

if you are gonna repaint where you strip the bedliner from, use an aircraft paint remover such as jasco or any other brand, the stuff the sell at autozone in the blue and white can with an airplane on it works great.
Just brush it on ( in 1 direction only DO NOT brush it back overitself or it looses its effectivness) and let it sit you will see the bedliner start to melt and bubble, then just scrap it away with a putty knife or such and voila good to go.

I myself, would be leary of using bedliner on the roof. My car interior gets hot enough inside, with out making it into a solar box. You have a nice looking Jeep. Hope you plan on re-storing the roof back to gloss black, Even if you where to spraycan it. (roof rack included.) it would be better!....................................JMO!
