Sand ramps
Had a friend make me a 4ft stainless ramp. A must have for the adventure jeeper. I have had to use it three times now. Saved my butt, and possible damage to the jeep. Simple and effective.
I had high centered on this log. Even with low tire pressure I could not get a wheel over it. Creek bank and a tree behind me, tree in front of me. I was trapped.
Threw the ramp down to get the front wheel over the log. Worked perfectly.
The way out of the creek had gotten severely undercut on one side of the 5 ft wall. The breakover was very rough. Going down in you basically teeter on the breakover and drop in. Comming out I just couldn't get the front wheels over the top. Even with a locker and low pressure. Threw the ramp in the undercut area and it climed right up. Took a couple bumps, but managed to get past the break over and up out of the creek.
Bent the ramp slightly, but overall I am very glad I got it. I think its going to hold up fine.
Again, a must for the adventure jeeper.

Yeah ramps are a good way to gain traction in areas you can't usually climb. Putting something over the terrain and under your tire is a pretty well-known method of cheating nature to get around. I like the idea, thanks for reminding me that I should get a set.
