rust prevention undercoating
I wanna make my jeep last as long as possible and protecting the body and frame is #1 on my list. I have been looking around for a good undercarriage paint to prevent rust. Right now i have very minor surface rust so i wanna tackle the whole thing now before it gets bad. Plus ill have the jeep at school with me at syracuse and with the amount of salt they use up their i wanna get this done soon. I have found por 15 with mixed results, northeaster rust converter, and my boss told me about gempler's rust converter which he swears by. Im sure there are plenty more as well. What would you guys recommend?

After searching some more por 15 sounds like a bad idea. Lots of bad reviews and unhappy people who used it. I found this stuff called rust bullet that seems to be a very promising product. Im still lost about what to get though.

Once the metal cancer is present, the only real cure is to cut it out and weld in new metal. However, POR-15 is good if it has rust (scrubbed back so there are no loose flakes) or well keyed metal to stick to. You have to follow the instructions to the letter.

fluid film works great
is goes on like a very thick wd-40 from a aerosol can, but its a penetrating fluid so it will soak in, but it also leave a waxy film when it dries...
Ive used it with great results...its perfect for inside rockers, weep holes in the doors etc.....
we used it also when I did lawncare and spreading fert on hownowners lawns. Fert will eat stuff like you wouldn't believe, but fluid film worked great
only down fall is that is has a very strong smell IMO
want to spray it outside for sure....
another downfall is this is something you would have to do in the fall and then again in the spring.......
but, it will penetrate and leave a protective coating....and you want something that will "soak" in
