I looked at the pop up one too. Well until I saw the price! I ended up just buying one of the new Coleman instant tents. Figured that way if I want to go someplace I don't have to worry about packing up whats on my roof. Next year will be a small camper or pop up with ac.

Yup, I also prefer to have my tent on the ground. Cheaper and it is nice not to have to pack up your camp, to go wheeling for the day.

Overland used the Overland Tent (hence his user name) that mounts to the top of your Jeep. Crazy expensive though!

I think he still has it, too.

Big cost, but good investment if you use it and can afford it.

You can get RTTs for 600 new. The ARB is 800. They're worth the investment if you use the jeep for long camping trips.

At 16 a thousand dollar tent isn't something on the top of my list. But I'd love to have one, my original plan was just to keep a large duffle bag with a tent and all my stuff so I can go wheeling and just be like **** it I'm gonna camp, but I saw some builds with the false floor and I liked that and then I saw one those tents in an older 4wheel magazine I had and decided I need one. But I've heard of ppl converting the cot tents into one but I've never seen a pic or a build thread so I'm going to get one off Craigslist and make it work. It may be a few more weeks till I get my rig but it's gonna be one of my first mods.

I'm not sure where you're getting those prices at, but an ARB Simpson III RTT cost $1425 + Shipping. You can find used ones, maybe, for $800. They certainly don't come up often though.

As for suggestion, I highly suggest you taking a look into Cascadia Vehicle Tents/CVT. They are currently offering a 30% group buy for any select products. Essentially, you can get their entry level Mt. Bachelor RTT (Fits 2) that includes an annex/changing room for $796, instead of a retail price of $995.

CVT produces quality RTTs. PM me if you want additional details.
