im working on some homemade rock sliders. no picks yet. i am using square tubing from an overhead gaurd , on a forklift. they are supposed to hold up to 8000 lbs. got enough to make some for my buddies tracker too. also just ordered my new tires today.

if your using the uprights off of a 6-8000 cap forklift...they are not rated at a capacity load inpact..only partial inpact....and most of the upright supports are only .120 wall at best...and fold like a taco even in a slight "flop". I would recomend using something a little heavier.
Agreed, the metal your using was rated as a whole. After you cut it up and start fabing its lost all its rating. If your cutting up a forklift then maybe try using the forks. Those would make a nice set of rock slides.
