Out of curiousity why does when I accelerate I have unusually high rpms? Compared to like last week? And has anyone else had this problem, my engine while just normally driving sounds like its hit its shift limit before it shifts even after its shifted...?

'91 4L with 254k running 30.5" BFGs all day long. Run it till you have the money. If it does crap out you can always take the bolt on's to the new engine. Just saw this link today!!

About a week ago when I accelerated my engine wouldn't really go above 2000 rpm unless I really pushed it. Now when I drivee the way I was the engine revs higher like it pushes closer to 3000 rpms. And I can hear my engine reving high like high to the point where it sounds like its gonna shift, even though its already shifted and its shifted fine.

Do the newer models have the transmission button on the dash? Sounds as though you switched it out of comfort mode?

Have you done a compression test?

That would give you an indication if a rebuild is in your near future.

Change the transmission fluid (Dex/Merc III only, do not use ATF+4) and do this:

You get better help posting in the OEM Tech section, by the way.
