Reinstalling Doors
So I took my doors off a few weeks ago, figured it would be a fun way to finish out my last semester of college. With graduation around the corner (this weekend) and moving from Blacksburg, VA to Arlington, VA in my near future I think the door need to be reinstalled.
The problem: I did not cut the hinges or make any kind of quick disconnect, I just unbolted the hinges. I have heard they can be hard to realign. Does anyone have an tips or experience with this?

I like to start the middle and one outer edge bolt on each hinge (I do the top hinge 1st) and thread them in about 1/2", slip the appropriate shim over the two bolts on each hinge (open end of shim grooves facing down). Then snug the bolts but dont tighten them all the way. Make sure the door opens and closes properly then add the other bolt to each hinge and tighten them all down. If the door doesnt work right rearrange the shims until its how it was before going doorless, if you mark the shims next time its pretty easy to reinstall the doors properly.
Hopefully this makes sense lol.
