Mine is cut at the headlight too, marked it with masking tape at the cut line and cut it with a high speed cutting wheel, leaves a clean cut and won't burn the paint if you keep it moving so it doesn't build up heat, then use a file to smooth the edge and add matching paint to the edge with a small paint brush and your done

The 3" Carbide cutting wheel will only grind where you let it, I use masking tape stuck to the paint line, and if you keep the wheel moving across the cut and don't build up much heat it won't flake the paint, it grinds through it, use a fine file on the cut line to smooth any sharp edges and a little touch up paint stick from o'Rielly's and you will be good to go. This is done to give more clearance for bigger tires, I have 35x12.5x15's on mine, I built the 8.5" long arm conversion to push the whole front suspension forward to give more clearance. Check out my Jeeps in my album. I am Jeep poor, LOL, Have one fiberglass CJ-5 thats not pictured yet, built it in 1975 and sold it to my wifes Uncle, had it for 37 years and got M.S. and is bed ridden so he gave it back to me and I am in process of bringing it back from the dead, LOL.
