Recommend me a good brush guard
...with a winch mount. I want to keep my stock bumper, but I also want to mount a winch on the front of the vehicle. I like the looks of a brush guard, and I wouldn't mind getting one, but I'm not too learned on the different brands. I don't have a ton of money to spend, but I don't want to get something really cheap, either.
Suggestions?

Again, keep in mind that I want to keep my stock front bumper on the vehicle for looks, not replace it.

ARB bull bars are really good but their price goes right along with them.
Rusty's makes really good ones that you can actually use without worrying about bending the bumper

Well I don't anticipate running into any moose any time soon, either. I just need something to mount a winch to that can also block whipping branches and whatnot.

Warn is the only one I know of that makes a integrated brush guard and winch mount. Also look at http://www.detoursusa.com/ They have a stock bumper mount for a winch, but no brush guard. What you are asking for is a little hard because you really want a strong mount with a winch, and a brush guard doesn't really have a good mount location on an xj. That is why their is only a few companies that make them and so many companies that make aftermarket bumpers. Check out http://www.custom4x4fabrication.com/index.html for some nice after market bumpers with brush guards on them. BTW, I have the c4x4 trail blazer bumper on mine and pulled a full-size bronco out of the snow last December. Good luck!

That backbone bumper system would work well for what I need, as well. My main goal is getting that winch mount on the front, so that fits the bill.

Great, glad I could help. I think that the owner of detours is a member here. You might search around and see if he might hook you up with a deal. You never know.

Hey Guys, Gals.........yes, I do try to check in from time to time.
As far as the BackBone goes, it's been a staple of our line up for about 8 years now, and there was a time a brushguard was offered as well....
It was only available for the pre-97 models, and with changes made to the new style BackBone.......it's been totally dropped.
But not forever, when time permits.....I plan on reworking the brushguard to fit the new BackBone design..........Thankyou for the suggestion and your intrest.

Oh man...if you were to start offering that brushguard again with the backbone system, I would snap it up in a heartbeat. That's exactly what I'm looking for.

Those who've purchased a BackBone since Jan. 2009, would at anytime be able to add the next generation brush guard to their previously purchased system, if desired.
So, all's not lost.
Thanks again for your intrest.
