Use a jumper wire to jump from the battery wire to the green wire.

(Make sure the winch is on free-spool while you're doing all this. Don't want to lose a finger.)
yeah I got a volt meter but don't know much about it. So red wire from voltmeter to 4gauge batt. wire and black wire from volt meter to green wire?

No, put the voltmeter down and do that with a plain piece of wire with the controller hooked to a battery. If you want to fully test it you can hook the voltmeter to the wires that would be going to the winch while you do that to see if you get power.

Not exactly. You're jumping ahead.

Ok, well I've offered $50 for like 12 times so I get first dibs if you give up. lol

We'll get it going though.

If you have good connections, a good battery with 12 volts on that 4ga supply wire then you should be activating #1 and #2 solenoid (if it's good) by jumping the large Batt+ wire to a green wire. All that does is bypass the remote.

You can test the remote one more way. Put your meter on the continuity setting by switching to the little speaker symbol. Tough the two leads together and it should beep. Now, touch one lead (Either one) to the white wire and the other lead to the green wire on the remote wire. Press the "IN" button on the remote. If the remote is good then your meter will beep. Do the same thing with the white and black wire while pressing the "Out" button.

If that doesn't work then you need to focus on the solenoids.

Spin it all the way to the speaker symbol 180* from where you have it now to do the continuity test. (It needs to have a good battery in it for this to work.)

For all other testing you'll need to do it's in the correct spot now.
