Hey all, I just got a new 2017 Jeep Cherokee that I love. I installed the 2" trailer hitch myself and had the dealership double check my work.

I did not, however, install the electrical connections for the hitch. I have heard that on other cars, installing some resistors in the trailer hitch connector assembly solved the problem I am having.

I keep getting tons of false alarms when reversing. In fact, it beeps the entire time.

I was considering removing the sensors and extending the wiring to them so they would attach to the bike rack. This would still make them super useful but would use the actual new dimensions of the car (with a bike rack) to more accurately predict collisions.

Some people suggest putting tape over them to disable them.I can try this as a last attempt.

Anybody have any better ideas? Again, I just need these false warning and beeping to stop when I reverse and have my bike rack installed.
